The struggling Valladolid face a very tough task at home to league leaders Barcelona in week 19 of La Liga. Both clubs picked up positive results in their week 18 games.

The home side Pucela are presently just above the drop zone of the La Liga table in 17th place with 17 points from 18 games. They sit 1 point ahead of the 18th place Tenerife and just behind the 16th place Malaga on goal difference. The side managed by Jose Luis Mendilibar played to a 1-1 draw away to Racing de Santander in their round 17 meeting at the Estadio El Sardinero. That result extended the team’s current winless run to 3 matches. The team has confirmed that Sisi will not be available as he will need to undergo surgery.

Barcelona are the only remaining team in La Liga yet to have lost a match. Through 18 games they have posted 14 wins, 4 draws and no losses while scoring 46 goals and conceding 10. The Cules are 5 points ahead of the 2nd place Real Madrid. Barsa are winners of 3 in a row in league play and this includes a 4-0 win over Sevilla in their most recent contest at the Camp Nou. In fact, over their last 3 games Barcelona have scored 10 goals while not conceding any. Manager Pep Guardiola was rewarded for his tremendous accomplishments at the club with a contract extension this week.
