Scotland have it all to do as they prepare to face-off at home to the Netherlands in World Cup qualifying. A victory in this Group 9 match and some help from other results could see Scotland reach the playoff stage.

The side managed by George Burley are coming off of a 2-0 win over Macedonia at home on Saturday at Hampden Park behind goals from Scott Brown and James McFadden. The result leaves Scotland in 2nd place with 10 points and they can clinch a spot in the playoffs with a victory at home over Holland as long as Slovenia and Poland play to a draw in Group 3. Meanwhile, Scotland need Northern Ireland to fail to beat Slovakia. At this time midfielder Scott Brown is doubtful, while the aforementioned McFadden is out suspended.

The Dutch have already qualified for South Africa 2010. They sit in first place of Group 9 with 21 points, the product of a perfect 7 wins out of 7 matches with 16 goals scored and 2 conceded. The Netherlands previous match in June saw them beat Norway at home by a score of 2-0 behind goals from Andre Ooijer and Arjen Robben.
