Real Madrid v Mallorca
Tagged with: la liga • live soccer • mallorca • Real MadridReal Madrid are home to take on Mallorca in La Liga action hoping to bounce back from their disappointing draw of one week ago. Mallorca played to a disappointing result in their Copa del Rey match earlier this week.
The side managed by Manuel Pellegrini are currently in 2nd place of the La Liga log with 38 points from their 16 games. Real are 2 points behind the 1st place Barcelona and 6 points ahead of the 3rd place Valencia. The merengues blew a golden opportunity to take over first place in the league last time out as they failed to beat Osasuna and played to a 0-0 draw. Centerback Ezequiel Garay of Argentina is a slight doubt as he has just resumed normal training but is still expected to start.
The visiting Mallorca lost away to Rayo Vallecano in their Copa del Rey fixture on Thursday by a score of 2-1 at the Estadio Teresa Rivero. Considering that Rayo are a 2nd division squad, the loss was most disappointing for the side managed by Gregorio Manzano. In league play however, the club is doing surprisingly well as they currently occupy the 4th spot in the log and if the season were to end today they would qualify for the preliminary round of the Champions League.
