Real Madrid v Lyon
Real Madrid need to win at home when they play host to Lyon in the return leg of their Champions League draw. Olympique Lyonnais held serve at home by a score of 1-0 in the first match.
The merengues were at home to Sevilla for a big derby match in their most recent La Liga fixture on Saturday. That contest ended in a dramatic win for Real as they came from 0-2 down to win by a score of 3-2 and that win leaves the side managed by Chilean boss Manuel Pellegrini in 2nd place of the log with 62 points, just behind Barcelona on goal difference. The Spanish giants were able to reach this stage thanks to a first place finish in Group C when they finished with 13 points, 4 ahead of the runners up AC Milan of Serie A.
The visiting Lyon will be through to the next round with either a win or a draw in this match and they can also advance if they lose by one goal as long as they score at least one. Domestically, Lyon have 50 points from 27 matches which are the product of 14 wins, 8 draws and 4 losses. On Saturday, the side managed by Claude Puel were able to hold out for a 0-0 draw away to the relegation threatened Boulogne at the Stade de la Liberation.
