Rangers v St. Mirren

Rangers are now at home to take on St. Mirren in a replay Scottish FA Cup match. When the two side originally met in the 5th round match Rangers were able to hold St. Mirren to a 0-0 draw away from home.

The home side Rangers are currently sitting atop the Scottish Premier League log with points from 58 points from 25 games. They hold a 10 point lead over the 2nd place Celtic and in their most recent league match the side managed by Walter Smith were at home to Hibernian. The Teddy Bears took the 3 points by a score of 3-0. The Gers are the current holders of the Scottish FA Cup and were able to reach this stage after defeating Hamilton Academical in a replay during the 4th round.

St. Mirren dropped 3 points at home on Saturday as they fell to Dundee United by a score of 1-2 at St. Mirren Park. Higdon had put the Buddies ahead in the 2nd half but Dundee would answer with two goals of their own to claim the points. With the loss Gus MacPherson’s squad are in 10th place of the Scottish Premiership log with 21 points and sit 3 points behind the 9th place St. Johnstone. St. Mirren had defeated Alloa Athletic in Round 4 to advance to this stage.
