Rangers v Celtic

The Old Firm derby is upon us as Rangers play host to Celtic in week 27 of the Scottish Premier League. Both clubs were victorious in their most recent league matches.

In their last Premiership match, Rangers held serve at home over Hibernian as they trounced them by a score of 3-0 at Ibrox. With that win the side managed by Walter Smith reached 58 points for the year from 25 matches. Those 58 points are the product of 17 wins, 7 draws and just one loss on the year. The Gers have 58 goals scored and 15 goals conceded, a league best in both categories.

This is very much a must win game for the visiting Celtic as a loss would leave them 10 points back with Rangers still having a match in hand on them. As it stands now, the Bhoys are in 2nd place of the Scottish Premier League log with 51 points. They are 7 points back of Rangers and 8 points ahead of the 3rd place Hibs. The side managed by Tony Mowbray are unbeaten over their last 3 games with 2 wins and 1 draw over that stretch following their 1-0 win over Dundee United last week at Hampden Park.
