Premier League Live 2009/10

The 2009/10 Premier League season looks set to be the most exciting and evenly matched as the big four go head to head for the big prize of Premiership glory.
After a Summer of pre season football players have returned to their clubs with many players hoping for a winning start. Top players who performed well will be looking at the EPL as their first choice in any possible transfer.

FAVOURITES FOR THE TITLE
Its hard to see past the “big four” when looking at potential Premier League champions for 2009/10 season. Manchester United, who were last seasons champions are marginal favourites with the bookies again this year but with the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez, many experts are predicting a tougher season for Sir Alex Ferguson and alot will depend on whether they can strengthen the forward line in the close season.

Arsenal have their own problems with the possibility of top plyers also leaving and this is maybe a consqeuence of the Gunners not picking up any silverware last season. Arsene Wenger will have to once again scour Europe and beyond to unearth those highly talented players that he continues to develop at the Emirates. Toure and Adebayor have left a big gap in terms of experience at the Emirates.

Many experts are once again tipping Liverpool to bring the Premier League title back to Anfield this season. The off the field problems seem to have been sorted out and armed with the fearsome striking abilities of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard, Liverpool fans will be expecting a full assault on the title this year. Xabi Alonso might have left but Glenn Johnson has arrived and will surely bolster the defence in readiness for a tough live Premier League campaign.

Chelsea have a new coach in Carlo Ancelotti and with an endless supply of transfer funds Chelsea might be best prepared out of all the top four to maintain sustained challenge for the title.

Fulham, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers and big spending Manchester City have all improved and will once again challenge to qualify to European football next year.

RELEGATION CANDIDATES
It has proved to be very difficult for newly promoted teams to avoid relegation. Premier League 2009/10 will pose the same problems for Hull City, Stoke City and Burnley who are all favourites for a return to life in the Championship next year. If any of these teams perform well then expect pressure on Sunderland, Bolton, Wigan, Fulham and Portsmouth who must once again fight through the season to survive.
