Manchester United are home to take on Manchester City in the second leg of the Carling Cup semi-final. Manchester City will advance to the final with a win or a draw.

The Red Devils won their league match on Saturday when they trounced Hull City by a score of 4-0 at Old Trafford. Wayne Rooney was unstoppable as he scored all four goals for the Manchester United. The win allowed the side managed by sir Alex Ferguson to temporarily climb into 1st place of the Premier League table with 50 points. United are 2 points ahead of the second place Arsenal who have one match in hand on them. The team will be missing three players for this match and they are O’Shea, Vidic, and Owen Hargreaves.

The visiting Manchester City won the first leg match over United by a score of 2-1 at City of Manchester Stadium. United had gone ahead on a goal by Ryan Giggs, but Argentine striker Carlos Tevez scored two goals to give the Sky Blues the victory. The side managed by former Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini are in 5th place of the Premier League with 38 points and they sit 1 point ahead of the 6th place Liverpool. The Citizens are reporting five confirmed injury absences in Lescott, Johnson, Bridge, Ball and Roque Santa Cruz while Vieira and Onuoha are doubtful.
