The Sky Blues played a midweek match on Tuesday and were able to hold out for a 1-1 draw away to Stoke City at Britannia Stadium. The Citizens fell behind in the 2nd half but were able to equalize against the ten man Stoke thanks to a goal from Barry 10 minutes from time. That result leaves the side managed by Roberto Mancini in 4th place of the Premier League table with 45 points from 25 games and they sit 7 points behind the 3rd place Arsenal with one game in hand. On the injury front, Petrov, Ball and Johnson are out while Bellamy and Kompany are doubtful.
The visiting Liverpool have been getting much better results of late but they did lose their last time out in Premier League play when they fell to Arsenal by a score of 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium. With that loss the side managed by Rafa Benitez sit in 5th place of the Premiership log with 44 points from 26 matches and they sit 1 point ahead of the 6th place Tottenham Hotspur. The side from Anfield Road will be missing Fernando Torres and Johnson to injury while Benayoun and Carragher are doubtful.
