Espanyol v Liverpool
Tagged with: Espanyol • live football • Liverpool • pre season footballEspanyol take on Premier League giants Liverpool as the pre season football fixture list reaches the home stretch. The Reds are coming off of a lopsided victory, while Espanyol were also winners but the game was anything but easy.
These are exciting times for the Spanish side Deportivo Espanyol as they are about to inaugurate their new home park. In addition, the club just added another piece to their squad this week when they secured the services, on loan- of Argentine defender Facundo Roncaglia. The club struggled to win its most recent friendly contest when they took on provincial side Palfrugell and just did secure a 1-2 win with Uruguayan striker Ivan Alonso scoring the match winner.
The side from Anfield Road received a big boost to their morale earlier in the month of July when Steven Gerrard was able to get his legal troubles behind him. Gerrard is now available and can concentrate fully on football as the beginning of the Premiership season is on the horizon. After starting the summer off with a 0-0 draw against St. Gallen, Liverpool have improved steadily and were able to score a 5-0 win over Singapore. Following this contest they will take on Norwegian outfit Lyn Oslo before finishing up the pre season against Atletico Madrid. Liverpool will open up their fixture list away to Tottenham Hotspur.
