They sit 1 point behind the 7th place Liverpool and 5 points ahead of the 9th place Fulham. Last Saturday they played to a 0-0 draw away to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Alex McLeish has three confirmed injury absences this week in Murphy, O’Connor, and Tainio.

The visiting Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from their shock elimination from the FA Cup when they lost to the 3rd division Leeds United. They are still in very good shape in the Premier League as they sit in 2nd place of the league table with 43 points and trail the leaders, Chelsea, by 2 points. Sir Alex Ferguson has three confirmed absences in Van Der Sar who remains away due to personal reasons while O’Shea and Owen Hargreaves are out. Meanwhile, veteran Rio Ferdinand is doubtful.
