Barcelona v Sevilla

Barcelona and Sevilla will meet for the 3rd time in 10 days in week 18 when they face off in La Liga action. The two sides were pitted against one another in the most recent round of the Copa del Rey.

The side managed by Pep Guardiola will be looking to exact revenge after losing out to Sevilla and consequently being eliminated from the Copa del Rey tournament which they won last season. Barsa beat Sevilla on the road in their second leg match on Wednesday by a score of 0-1 but the margin was not enough to advance to the next stage. The Cules are presently in first place of the La Liga table with 43 points and they sit 2 points ahead of the 2nd place Real Madrid. Barcelona scored a big win away from home last week as they trounced Tenerife by a score of 0-5 at the Estadio Heliodoro Rodriguez.

Sevilla will be in high spirits after outlasting the defending champions in the Copa del Rey. In league play the side managed by Manolo Jimenez are in 5th place of the league table with 30 points and they sit 1 point behind the 4th place Deportivo La Coruna. In their most recent league match, Sevilla fell at home to Racing Santander by a score of 1-2 in their meeting at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.Squillaci and Diego Perotti are both set to sit this one out along with Luis Fabiano.
