Barcelona v Racing Santander

Barcelona come into round 23 of La Liga looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season when they take on Racing Santander. Racing were also losers last week as they were trounced at home by Malaga.

Barsa were losers away to Atletico Madrid last week by a score of 2-1 at the Estadio Vicente Calderon. That loss, coupled with Real Madrid’s victory leaves Pep Guardiola’s squad just 2 points ahead of the 2nd place Madrid.  The Cules now have 17 wins, 4 draws and 1 loss from their 22 games to date. That result snaps the teams’ win streak at 6 matches. The good news for Barcelona this week is that Toure has resumed normal training.

The visiting Racing Santander find themselves in 14th place of the log with 25 points for the year. The side from the Estadio El Sardinero have 6 wins, 7 draws and 9 losses from 22 games with 24 goals scored and 31 conceded. They sit just behind the 13th place Sporting Gijon on goal difference and 1 point ahead of the 15th place Malaga. Last week they saw their winless run extended to 3 games when they were beaten by that very same Malaga at home, 0-3.  Among the players who will not be available for manager  Miguel Angel Portugal are Munitis, Colsa and Tchite.
