Arsenal v Rangers L I V E !
Tagged with: Arsenal • Emirates Cup • live football • RangersThe 2009 Emirates Cup continues as match day two will feature a British derby when the Gunners play host to Scottish giants Rangers in pre season football. Rangers had played French side PSG in their first game while Arsenal took on perennial Spanish favorites Atletico Madrid.
The home side managed by Arsene Wenger have yet to lose during this pre season. The month of July saw them start off with a draw against Barnet and they then followed that up with successive victories over SC Columbia, Szombathelyi and Hannover 96. Over those first 4 games they had outscored their opponents by 15 to 3. Following this contest the Gunners are set to take on Spanish outfit Valencia in their final friendly before opening the Premier League season away to Everton.
Rangers have been forced to stand pat during the summer given their current financial situation and were not able to make a single signing. Prior to taking on PSG in this tournament, the Gers had their match against Sportfreunde Lotte postponed and then went on to beat FC Nurnberg and SC Wiednenbruck 2000. The side managed by Walter Smith will begin their Scottish Premiership campaign at home to Falkirk.
